Copyrighting invokes the power of the State, or the Sword.
Those who hold the Word of God are not going to receive
protection via copyrights from the world - unless the word has
been perverted and has received the sanction of the world.
Who is doing most of the Bible publishing today? Big
corporations whose bottom line is to make money.
In contrast, William Tyndale, the father of the English
Bible, gave up his life for the Holy Scripture. He asked for no
copyright. All he wanted was to have the Word published. All
English Bible translations until the 20th century are largely
the work of Tyndale.
The Bible is the Word of God, no man can own it or profit
from it.
