T9844D Jesus Taught Commerce
A group of children are selling lemonade on the corner. Before they know it, "Knock! Knock!" The taxman arrives and he is saying, "All right kids, I see you are in commerce and you are selling lemonade. That means you need to start paying taxes to me."
The children scratch their heads and say, "wait a minute! We are doing this for Jesus Christ. Who are you? "
"I'm the taxman. You are in State commerce, which is under Caesar. Therefore, you must pay the taxes."
But the children say, "No! We're not in State commerce, we're in God's commerce!"
And the children are right. Jesus wants us to do commerce in the Kingdom of Heaven. He wants us to do it in Him.
"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him," (Colossians 3:17).
